Growing in Goodness

The older I get, the greater power I seem to have to help the world; I am like a snowball– the further I am rolled the more I gained.

We women resist growing older. Wrinkled and age spots and gray hair can cause us no end of frustration. We try creams and gels and hair colour to stave off the inevitable.

While its’s healthy to care about our appearance, the outside of our bodies doesn’t define the beautiful “us” inside.

As we age, we can be like rolling snowballs, gathering experience, skills, connections, friends, wisdom, and spiritual maturity and insight. The more we live, the more we gain, and hopefully, the more we realise we have the resources to share wisdom, offering depth of insight and help for those in need.

Have a few wrinkles and gray hairs? Thank God for allowing you to grow older. Embrace these days. Accept your age– and all that comes with it– a gift to give others.

Proverbs 20:29, “Youth may be admired for vigor, but gray hair gives prestige to old age.”

Prayer: precious Lord, help me to mature with my years so I can help others.
